WHAT IS ENLIGHTENMENT?

Enlightenment has been described as a knowing of what you really are; a deeper understanding of reality. Enlightened people experience a relief from the fear of death, an alleviation of suffering, a quieting of the mind, and an extreme level of focus and concentration. 

There is a lot of mysticism and dogma surrounding enlightenment practices of the past. But there is also increasing scientific study and modern understanding of the enlightened state.

MRI brain scans have shown a structural and functional difference between the brains of experienced meditators who are likely enlightened, and those of non-meditators. Neuroscience now understands that it is possible to train and change the brain, like any other part of the body.

DO IT?

Enlightenment practices will give you endurance, fortitude, durability, and toughness in the face of adversity. The work creates a stable, integrated psychological peace in your mind and life, and a presence in the moment.

Once you start drilling away at the deep structure of the mind, once you see a little bit of light on the other side, you’re more or less compelled to finish the job.

WHO IS
IT FOR?

Enlightenment isn’t for everybody. Most people can go through life perfectly fine without it. It’s not a badge or an achievement, nor is it something that elevates you above others. Some people are already enlightened and do not know it, others will casually ignore it within themselves endlessly. But most of us are somewhere in the middle: a potential we can reveal, if we commit to making an effort.

Vinay has spent decades creating a clear-cut practice that leads towards enlightenment. He became enlightened in 1998 and has since privately guided a number of students. He is a member of the Kriya Yoga tradition, and a member of the ancient Nath Sampradaya. His approach to meditation is aimed at creating a solid foundation for a path to enlightenment. The practice itself is minimalistic and safe. It is culturally adaptive and doesn’t require you to believe anything.
